Just returned from a relaxing holiday touring California.
Having travelled extensively within the borders of the United States, Californians are free thinkers; maybe it’s due to their pioneering spirit or the fact that they are removed (by many thousands of miles) from any influence of government located in Washington, whatever it is, as I’ve found out recently, Californians do whatever they do differently from the rest of America; so must I in terms of horseracing.
It was all well and good reviewing 2007, but we need to be looking forward.
Recently, I have been tracking my bets virtually on the OLBG website, the exercise has taught me lesson. The first lesson I have already mentioned in a previous post a. punting late should be my modus operandi and b. the current methods are not working because I’m betting selections instead of value.
Fortunately for me virtual betting means that I haven’t any real money so zero harm to my bank balance.
Anyway expanding on the theme of this post, if tracking virtual bets has taught me a lesson, it is now time to expand my process to include the creation of my own betting forecast and relevant metrics and measures to benchmark myself and monitor my progress.
This is a well trodden path for me but I think the exercise in virtual betting plus the break has finally turned a light switch on in my head.
So, yet again the activity which needs to start with immediate effect is the creation of a betting forecast for every race I punt in. From this process I will monitor my progress by capturing “my opinion” in the notebook. The Wagering Plan has been revamped to capture my approach in a formal set of guidelines that I will abide by during this year.
