I can honestly say that after my first visit to a principle meeting, I shall never attend one again! The day did not start well as we were trapped in a non-moving traffic 4 miles from the course due to slow access into the car park. In the end my friends and I had to abandon our car and walk the remaining distance. As a consequence, we missed the first race.On course the situation was much worse! We had forked out £25 for the privilege of Premier tickets and given the amount of people packed (like sardines) into the enclosure we couldn’t get a beer, a bite to eat, coffee or even a clear view of the races. To me the situation smacked of pure greed i.e. sell as many ticket as possible without a thought for the comfort and safety of the punters. Finally access to the betting ring was near impossible due to the crowds. Imagine; betting shop folder mixed with upper class twits drinking, barging, swearing and being obnoxious and you some idea of the jungle that was the betting ring! I lost count of the amount of punters who barged me out of the way to get a price for their £2 each way bets!

On a better note Silver Birch landed my Anti Post gamble of the year (14/1 betfair and 12/1 Ladbrokes) and won by 2 lengths. On course I had a return of £70 by backing Silver Birch in the ring and a small Reverse Exacta with Strong Resolve.

Note a bad result but my faith in attending principle meetings has been soured.
