Betting Made Simple

Posted by slipperytoad as Betting Theory

While researching SQL, Raceform Interactive Database access, I came across the following in the RI forum.

Nothing I’ve read so far succinctly outlines an approach to handicapping races.

1. Select solvable races to study.
2. Devise a method of isolating the main contenders.
3. Ensure the first 2 rules are achieved with the minimum of fuss. (tongue in cheek, but essential)
4. Allow plenty of time to intrepret the data of your chosen HORSES.
5. Gain personal knowledge about the nature of horses & racing activities.
6. Always try to bet within a favourable risk/reward ratio.

Not to mention a good helping of psychological glue to hold it all together.

Sometimes I lose sight of the fact that all I need to do is to keep things simple.
