I was asked via email to post my top ten list of gambling related books.
It was a tough ask given my self confessed addiction when it comes to horse racing literature; therefore I have quite a few books on the subject.
Listed below are the books that have had the most influence on my approach to handicapping. I will write a synopsis on each book, change or rearrange the list over time.

Thanks for posting up your top ten list of books and with such perfect timing. My wife and daughters never know what to buy me for my birthday (which will soon be here).
Well that will be at least three of the books off the list then!!! Just another seven more to go.

Good list Slippery! Cramer and Gibby are my two favourites. Bit surprised that The Best of Thoroughbred Handicapping by James Quinn doesn’t feature though. It provides a precis of the methods espoused by about twenty American handicappers and is absolutely outstanding and packed full of useful ideas and methodologies. If you haven’t read it I would strongly advise you to obtain a copy. I see on the RP website that Gibby has a new book coming out called Well Handicapped Horses and also there is a new offering by Peter May who I also rate. Hopefully they will be worth a read. Keep up the good work.

I have a copy of Quinn’s book but as I said I wanted to list the most thumbed books in the top ten. Some resemble Haynes manuals and are falling apart because I read them so often.
