With projects at work to keep me occupied and the All Weather season coming to a close i.e. no races at the weekend I’ve taken an enforced break.
Cleaning out my inbox this evening, I came across the following comments from a Betfair “deep throat”
“Betfair are very soon to release a new product called MiniGames that will add fruit machines to the menu of bets offered by Betfair.”
I consider myself a novice “punter” in total control of my vice betting money that I can easily afford to part with, my bills are paid on time, I have zero debt and my immediate family is not affected by my dreams to become a professional investor.
However, if you want to see the misery gambling addiction can inflict on peoples lives take a peak at Gamcare.
“MiniGames” is a worrying step by Betfair and their new strategy is to rob from the rich (via their premium charge) and pray on the weak.
Revolutions have occurred for much less!

Betfair have turned into a bit of a corporate monster lately.
I have no inherant problem with folk playing fruit machines if they want to.
I am though, a bit purturbed by the gambling industry standard of seemingly going all out to get punters playing slots rather than other games.
Table games at online casinos etc usually count for about 2% towards bonus playthrough req’s, if atall.
Wheras slot machines count 100% towards wagering req’s.
We are told though, that table games payout around 97%, and allegedly the slots payout 95%.
Either the gaming est’s are pushing folk to play on the slots, which is indeed, arguably an irresponsible gambler hunt, or the slots don’t really payout 97%.

To quote a phrase I heard when visiting a few years ago “Vegas was not built on winners“!
