Due to a project I’m leading at work I have no time in the evening to prepare for the following days racing. Hence I am reduced to punting only at the weekends along with everyone else.
Unfortunately with work being so draining mentally by the time I settle down to form study Friday evening I’m knackered and I find it difficult to get my brain into the mental state which experience has taught me results in a positive result (win or lose)
The “point and shoot” approach where the focus is on the contenders that head the market in non handicap races was meant to allow me under these circumstances to still keep a skin in the game and play the percentages with little effort on my part.
As I highlighted when embarking on this method a few weeks ago, the prices for those that head the market especially the favourite are extremely cramped and most of the time the risk reward profile is a negative expectation. A load of waffle for saying that betting short priced horses offer no value!
A positive expectation however, is that it’s easy to predict which horses will attract (or not in some cases) punters money. If you can predict price movement in a deterministic fashion, in theory you can trade these movements on the exchanges.
With midweek punting persona non grata I shall dig out my notes from my Betfair Bootcamp to morph the point and shoot method into a trading strategy for non handicap All Weather races to see if I can plough a new field at the weekends.
