One reason is due to Cognitive Psychology and the relationship to Decision Making. I plan to write about how we can apply techniques from these approachs to gambling in a future post. So now instead of trying to guess which direction the market is heading, I now stroll in to the shop just before the first show and check the prices of the horses against my tissue. Using some decision tools I’ve created out of my cognitive psychology studies.
Yes Mr Ticksize, price for me is now everything. Helps me to obtain perceived value, makes decision making less agonising and I’m no longer emotionally involved in my “fancy”.
As Mordin referred to in one of his books, it’s boring but don’t gamble if you want excitement!
